South Tyrolean flavor meets Italian lightness

Good food at lunch and dinner
At our restaurant, Chef Georg pampers you with a fine choice of South Tyrolean specialties and Mediterranean delicacies. Here, hearty regional dishes meet light, modern Italian cuisine – always freshly prepared and crafted with great attention to detail.
We place great value on regional ingredients to support local cycles and bring out the natural flavor in the best possible way. Fresh herbs and vegetables from nearby farms, along with high-quality local meat, give our dishes their distinctive taste. Our daily menu offers a varied selection, and we’re happy to accommodate individual requests – whether for allergy sufferers, vegetarians, or vegans.

For a small bite in between, feel free to stop by our bar or sun terrace. Enjoy homemade cakes with aromatic coffee or treat yourself to a traditional South Tyrolean “Marende” – best accompanied by a freshly tapped beer or a fine glass of wine.

Getting to Proveis

The road to Gasthof Neue Post
Proveis is beautifully nestled in the South Tyrolean mountains – somewhat secluded but easily accessible. There are several ways to reach us by car or bus:

Route via the Reschen Pass and Vinschgau

If you drive through the Vinschgau valley via the Reschen Pass towards Merano, continue in the direction of Lana. From there, you can reach Proveis in two ways:
  • Via the Ultental: In Lana, take the road into the Ultental valley and turn onto the new Hofmahdstraße after the village of St. Pankraz, which leads directly to Proveis.
  • Via the Gampen Pass: Alternatively, take the Gampenstraße (SS 238), which leads over the Tisner Berg to the pass at 1,518 meters above sea level. From there, descend through Unsere liebe Frau im Walde, St. Felix, and Tret to Fondo in Trentino.

Route via the Brenner Pass

If you are coming via the Brenner Pass, exit the highway at the Bozen Süd exit. From there, you have the following options:
  • Via the MeBo expressway: Follow the expressway to Lana, then continue into the Ultental valley and take the Hofmahdstraße to Proveis.
  • Via Eppan and the Mendel Pass: Alternatively, you can exit at Eppan, take SS 42 over the Mendel Pass to Fondo, and look for the turnoff towards Castelfondo. This leads over a narrow, winding mountain road (via the "Jöchl") to Laurein and finally to Proveis (about 7 km from Laurein).

Route through the Nonstal

(Val di Non)
For landscape enthusiasts, there’s a particularly scenic, though longer, route through the Nonstal:
  • Exit the A22 at the Trento-Nord (St. Michele) exit.
  • Continue to Mezzolombardo, from where the Val di Non (Nonstal) begins.
  • Via Cles and Mostizzolo, you’ll reach SS 42.
  • After about 2 km, turn left towards Rumo and Proveis.
